Archers in Action: News & Events ~ June 9, 2026 Summer Edition

Students and Families,

We hope your summer is going well! This is a somewhat long email with important information.  It might be helpful to bookmark it for future reference.

    • We have posted the final report cards. They can be found in the Family Portfolio section in Skyward.
    • Responsive Education Solutions is still planning on expanding our facilities. They are gathering current bids and will begin as soon as those decisions are made.
    • Sponsorship Board: In anticipation of our 2026-2027 school year and athletic season, we are filling our sponsorship board in Building One Gym and on The Range (field). We would like to give our school community the opportunity, first, to advertise their businesses, so if you are interested, please fill out this form. Assistant Headmaster Nathan McClallen will be in touch with more information.

  • Uniform guideline revisions: As the number of Founders schools has increased, the district has decided to standardize a few items across all Founders Classical Academies. We announced the changes in February, but I wanted to remind you that the skirt, short, and skort lengths have changed. Below is the language from the district:

Dress Code

To ensure a professional appearance, modesty, and consistency, the following requirements are strictly enforced for all students:

1. Style and Fit Requirements

All pants, skirts, skorts, and shorts must be traditional uniform style.

  • Prohibited Styles: Skinny pants, cargo pants/shorts, joggers, leggings (worn as pants), capris, cropped pants, "high waters," and khaki-colored jeans are not permitted.

2. Length, Fit, and Modesty Standards

  • Skirts: Must be worn at the knee.

  • Shorts and Skorts:

    • Length: Shorts and skorts must reach just above the knee, but not extend below it.

    • Fit: Garments must be of a standard uniform fit—not excessively tight or overly loose/baggy.

  • Waist and Undergarments:

    • All bottoms must be worn at the natural waist.

    • Undergarments (including boxers or compression shorts) must never be visible. This policy applies at all times, including during athletic practices and games.

Finally, it takes hard work and diligence during the school year to “train the mind” and “improve the heart,” and although periods of leisure and rest are healthy and necessary, those periods can erode the habits students have developed over the school year. Below are some ideas that may be helpful to you as you encourage rest over the summer without letting the habits and knowledge your students have acquired over the year wane. We recognize that many students prefer to watch TV, play video games, and read books from popular culture in their free time. The goal is that they would prefer to read beautiful literature and to learn something new. As with food, the more we eat something, the more we crave it. If they read enough beautiful literature, they will begin craving those stories. Please find attached ideas for how students can stay sharp over the summer!

Have a great June,

Tabitha Loy

Headmaster
