Archers in Action: News & Events ~ November 19, 2025

Dear Families,

Yesterday, a piece of paper was hung on one of the bulletin boards by the office in Building Three and one in Building Two Gym. The phrase, “I am thankful for…” was written across the top. Post-it notes and pens were placed on a table below. No other directions were given. Within two passing periods, the paper was full of Post-it notes. I have included a picture.

 

As a community, we have overcome several struggles this fall. It is understandable that they are at the forefront of our minds, because they are serious things. However, we can learn much from our students. Very quickly, they were able to shift from their worries to a heart of gratitude. Names of friends, family members, and teachers filled the board. They wrote about events they are looking forward to and activities they are thankful to participate in. They wrote about genuine needs that are met and pets they love. In short, they demonstrated a heart of gratitude in the midst of challenging circumstances. As you head into the Thanksgiving holiday, I wish the same to you–that you will be able to recognize and celebrate your blessings so that your heart will have joy.
