⭐Congratulations to Ms. Anna Swartz, our 2025-2026 Grammar School Teacher of the Year!

The word that is used to describe this year’s Grammar Teacher of the Year is encouraging. She gives her students courage every day to learn difficult concepts and to master challenging skills. She inspires confidence in her students that they can do hard things. Then, she creatively gives them the tools to use to succeed. She diligently works to help them along that journey. Most importantly, she makes learning in her class rigorous and fun!

She's an amazing history teacher and she's patient.

She is really kind and makes a lot of good jokes and she helped me be a better writer.

Always helpful, communicates well with parents and students, and overall a good teacher. She keeps kids engaged, especially in literature.

This teacher has been instrumental this year in bringing excellence, structure, and decorum to many facets of the school and its culture.

My daughters have spoken about how he really gets through to his students and understands how to teach and makes class enjoyable.

He is very dedicated to his class. Many days, he stays after class and skips his lunch to continue talking with students. He is also the funniest guy ever....

He is energized and makes complicated ideas easy to digest. The way he teaches shows his passion for the subject and teaching in general.

His passion for teaching creates a rich environment for learning tough ideas and he enables his students to think deeply about difficult subjects.

⭐Required Summer Reading for All Students

All students have required reading assignments, by grade level, and are expected to return to school prepared to discuss their thoughts. Upper School students should turn in their written assignments on the first day of school so that they can be graded.

Discussions about summer reading will take place in the first few days of the new school year.

➹Parents of incoming 7th grade students: Be aware of these vaccination requirements

To parents of incoming 7th graders: Prior to the start of 7th grade you must turn in documentation to the school of shot dates or a waiver (see link below) for the MCV4 (Meningococcal 4) and tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) booster vaccine prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year. If those are not received the child may not be allowed to attend until documentation is received. Thank you for your attention to this matter..

➹New Student Drivers - If Requesting a VOE, Allow One Week for Processing

A VOE dated the last 5 days of school is valid until the first day of the next school year. If you need a VOE over the summer, use this request form.
