American History Day

What
American History Day
When
4/29/2021

Our Grammar teachers and students are preparing for our American History Day on April 29. This annual event is a celebration of all that our K-5th grade students have learned about our nation's past. Our students are preparing patriotic recitations and songs. Look for information from your child's teacher for specific classroom instructions and costume suggestions. Students will be allowed to wear their costumes to school, and presentations will be recorded during the school day to be shared with families. Here is a list of the recitations:

  • Kindergarten - Preamble to the Constitution
  • First Grade - Declaration of Independence (first paragraph)
  • Second Grade - Declaration of Independence (second paragraph)
  • Third Grade - The Gettysburg Address
  • Fourth Grade - If Men Were Angels (excerpt from Federalist 51)
  • Fifth Grade - Abraham Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address
