Archers in Action: News & Events ~ Updated June 7, 2025

A Message From Ms. Loy, Headmaster (From a June 5, 2025 Email)

➶ Students and Families,

We hope your summer is going well! This is a somewhat long email with important information.  It might be helpful to bookmark it for future reference.

  • We have posted the final report cards. They can be found in the Family Portfolio section in Skyward.
  • Responsive Education Solutions is still planning on expanding. They are working with the City of Leander to acquire the permitting.
  • Because of the difficulty in using Skyward to communicate, we will be transitioning to Parent Square as our communication tool for the 2025-2026 school year. More information about this will be coming in August. Parent Square is much more user-friendly and efficient for communication. We will still be using Skyward for everything else.
  • Important Summer Dates:

-July 24th: Summer Social from 6-8. Reading logs for Grammar and Upper (new this summer) are attached! Students can earn a free snow cone!

-August 6th: Grammar Back-to-School Night

-August 7th: Upper Back-to-School Night

-August 8th: New Student Orientation (Grades 7-12)

-August 13th: First Day of School 2025-2026. A draft of the calendar is attached.(Click here.)

  • Please be on the watch for a list of 2025-2026 Literature novels for annotation to go out later this month.

Finally, it takes hard work and diligence during the school year to “train the mind” and “improve the heart”,  and although periods of leisure and rest are healthy and necessary, those periods can erode the habits students have developed over the school year. Below are some ideas that may be helpful to you as you encourage rest over the summer without letting the habits and knowledge your students have acquired over the year wane. We recognize that many students prefer to watch TV, play video games, and read books from popular culture in their free time. The goal is that they would prefer to read beautiful literature and to learn something new. As with food, the more we eat something, the more we crave it. If they read enough beautiful literature, they will begin craving those stories. Please find attached ideas for how students can stay sharp over the summer!

Have a great summer,

Tabitha Loy
