A Day in the Life: Founders Kindergarten

This school year, 48 kindergarten students began their journey in classical education at Founders Leander. Founders Leander is a liberal arts school where goodness and truth are pursued for their own sake, and where the humanities, the sciences, and the arts are taught together as parts of a complete and harmonious whole. The curriculum at Founders Classical Academy is carefully selected. It teaches the liberal arts and emphasizes the moral and intellectual virtues through a content-rich, cohesive course of study. The Grammar School (Kindergarten-6th Grade) curriculum focuses on a solid language arts core, comprised of explicit phonics, handwriting, and grammar, as well as Singapore math and the content-rich Core Knowledge curriculum. The classroom is traditionally structured and teachers provide direct instruction. Students are encouraged to improve their minds and their character in accordance with virtue. At Founders Leander, we encourage our new Kindergarten friends to enjoy their journey. To cultivate a love of the just, the beautiful, the good, and the true, and to make the pursuit of these things a way of life. In case you missed it, The 2024 Winter Fine Arts Showcase took place last week showcasing the incredible talents of our student orchestra led by Mr. Stiglich and art from students in K-12th grade taught by Mrs. Horton, Grammar and Mrs. Augustiniak, Upper School and Floral Design class taught by Mrs. Pluenneke. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make the event possible and the Fine Arts Committee for their support. If you missed the showcase, come check out the Grammar art. It will be displayed through December 20.

What an incredible day we had at this year's Fall Fest! From the Fun Run in the morning to the thrilling Clash of the Archers in the afternoon, every moment was a celebration of our vibrant community spirit. As the Volunteer Coordinator, I'm truly moved by the collective effort—together, we logged 250 volunteer hours to make the day a resounding success!
