Car Line & Parking

Working Together to Keep the Car Line Safe and Efficient

Students should begin arriving no earlier than 7:30am. Faculty, staff, and volunteers will be at the front of the campus in the morning to escort our younger students from their vehicles to the building. Other staff will be inside to supervise students on their way to class. At 8:00am our doors will be locked to ensure the security of students and staff.

When you arrive in the mornings and afternoons, please follow the procedures listed below for dropping off and picking up students.

For instructions on how to enter and exit the car line, please see the diagram below. You may download the diagram in PDF here: Carline Procedures.

Car Line Procedures

  1. DO NOT USE YOUR CELL PHONE WHILE IN THE CAR LINE. Students who use their cell phones while driving on campus may lose their parking and on-campus driving privileges.  Parents who use their cell phones during the carline may be banned from driving on campus.
  2. Please drive slowly, especially along the driveway. There are many young children around, and it is important for drivers to be watchful.
  3. Approach the campus from the north to help keep traffic on Leander Drive moving.
  4. Two lines should be formed in the car line, one for drop-offs/pick-ups at Building 3 and one for drop-offs/pick-ups at Buildings 1 & 2.
  5. K-5th parents, please arrive for afternoon pick-up beginning at 3:15 p.m. K-5th students will be dismissed at 3:30 p.m.
  6. 6th-12th parents, students will be dismissed from Building 3 at 3:30 p.m.
  7. Once in the car line, please pull all the way up to the front of the line. There should be no gaps in the line.
  8. Drop off – If you have students in K-5th and 6th-12th, please drop off all of your children outside Buildings 1 and 2. Please do not drop off on the side of Building 1.
  9. NOTE THIS CHANGE FOR 2024-2025 DUE TO CONSTRUCTION: Pick up –Parents with Grammar and Upper students may pick up all their children with one stop in front of Buildings One and Two.
The waiting Upper students should begin walking to the front of Buildings One and Two when they see their car pass. They can then get in the car with their Grammar sibling.
Upper students may not pick up Grammar siblings and wait with them in front of Buildings One and Two–there is no room.
Upper students who drive their siblings may pick those students up and take them to their car.
  10. Please do not park in Building 1 and 2 parking lots as they are for student and faculty parking only. It is not for parent parking, or for drop off/pick up.
  11. Please do not park along Leander Drive at any time.
  12. Please do not park in our neighbor’s driveway. We have a good relationship with them and would like to continue that.
  13. If you plan to spend time on campus, please park in the designated visitors parking lots. The parking behind Building 2 will no longer be accessible due to construction.
  14. DO NOT enter the south driveway after 7:30 a.m. or after 3:15 p.m.
  15. IMPORTANT NOTE: The south driveway is for exit-only traffic during the hours of 7:15-8:30 a.m. and 3:15-4:30 p.m. Two lanes should form - one for turning north and one for turning south onto Leander Drive.

Instructions for Driving on Campus During School Hours

We have placed cones outside of the crosswalks by buildings 1 and 3 for the safety of our students. If you visit our campus during school hours please do not remove the cones to pull up to our buildings. You must use the open parking spaces in the parking lot and walk up to our offices. Cones will be moved at 3:10 pm for pick up.

Instructions for Grammar School (K-5th) Car Tags

Each K-5th grade family is provided with two copies of a color coded car tag for each student at the beginning of the school year.  If you carpool, please give the extra car tag to the people you authorize to pick up your children and make sure that their names and contact information are included as carpool contacts in your Skyward portal.

K-5th students will be dismissed from their classrooms by school staff wearing yellow vests. School staff will be present to open car doors and supervise the process. (Reminder: NEW THIS YEAR, due to space and safety reasons, 6th-12th grade students will be picked up in front of Building 3.)

K-5th parents:

  • Please display your family’s car tag on the right hand side of your car’s windshield when you arrive in the afternoons.
  • When you arrive in the afternoons, school staff will call out the family numbers on walkie talkies or enter them on iPads and students will be dismissed from their classrooms.
  • This is an excellent time for school staff to learn the names of our families, and we look forward to getting to know you well over the course of the school year!

If you carpool, please make sure that these individuals are listed as emergency pick up in your Skyward account. If you arrive to campus without a car tag in the afternoon, please park and check in at the Building 3 reception desk. School staff will arrange for your child to meet you once we have confirmed that you are authorized to pick the student up.
