September 14, 2022 - College Admissions Overview
Kendall Guess, owner and founder of Path to Admissions will walk parents & students through the college admissions process: what to do during high school, choosing a major, choosing a school, getting admitted, and the cost of college. This presentation is primarily for 9-11 grade families, but open to all. RSVP link to come.
October 5, 2022 - The Expense of College
Kendall Guess, owner and founder of Path to Admissions. Continuing the conversation on planning for college, Ms. Guess will present information about the real cost of college, strategies to lower college costs, and how financial aid can equalize the cost between private and public institutions. Financial planning should start early so all Founders families are welcomed to this presentation. This will be an in-person meeting held in the building 3 Library. RSVP link to come.
November 9, 2022 - Scholarships & Minimizing College Debt
Dean Somerville will talk about the advantages of starting saving early in life, compounding, living below your means, saving for retirement, investing in the stock market, etc. RSVP link to come.
December 7, 2022 - How to Research and Choose Colleges
Kendall Guess returns for a presentation on search criteria and techniques to employ in choosing the schools you will apply to. She will cover the process of building a college list with specific information about several schools Founders students have typically been interested in. This presentation is targeted for high school juniors, but all are welcome. RSVP link to come.

November 20 - Practice ACT
This ACT practice administration is for students who have never taken an ACT or for students who have taken the ACT, and have been working on improving their scores. The practice test will be administered in a testing environment, and tests will be scored immediately. After taking the PSAT and a practice ACT, students should know their test preference and so they can focus their test preparation on one or the other. Sign up HERE so we can prepare the right amount of testing materials.
ACT/SAT/CLT Test Schedules and Registration Links
Use these links to register for upcoming administrations of college admissions exams:
March 3, 2022 - School Day SAT administration at FCA - Class of 2023 only. Students do not need to register for this administration.
The Classic Learning Test is an online college entrance exam designed for 11th and 12th graders. It is remotely proctored and taken at the student's home. The CLT takes approximately two hours to complete, Students receive their scores within 10 business days, and they can instantly share them with an unlimited number of colleges and universities for free. For sponsored administrations, students applying to the sponsoring college can take the CLT for free.
